MBECL's OHSMS (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) is OHSAS 18001 certified. MBECL has a dedicated OH&S Policy at corporate level, which has the following salient features -

    • Promote a positive safety culture through active leadership and encourage good safety performance through reward and recognition for continual improvement.
    • Employ Contractors/Vendors who aspire to adopt the OH&S standard in their works.
    • Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all its employees and stakeholders.
    • Identify, eliminate, prevent and control of hazards that may cause harm/injury/occupational illness to persons.
    • Establish procedures to recognize, implement, evaluate and periodical review of OH&S performance through setting up of appropriate objectives and targets.
    • Provide training and resources for employees to maintain OH&S systems.
    • Make OH&S as the line management responsibility.
    • Made our policy available at conspicuous locations to communicate the Policy to all persons working for or on behalf of the organization, including the interested parties and stakeholders and periodically review the policy for its relevance appropriate to the organization.

OH&S being an integral part of all our operations, we shall visibly uphold the principles of this policy. Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Human Resources and other Service departments of the company are responsible for maintaining the OH&S management system necessary to sustain this policy.

The application of our occupational health and safety accountability from each employee enforced through frontline supervision, incorporating safe work practices as standard operating procedures, and the philosophy that safety is an equal part of the business process. Regular training and education is carried out to provide and update knowledge of the employees on various project activities and related safety issues.
